The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2016 admit cards available from 17 December 2015. Admit cards will ONLY be downloadable from the GOAPS website. The entrance exam is scheduled to be held on 30 January, 31 January, 06 February and 7 February 2016 in various examination centers.
The candidate must bring a printed copy of the card admit that the test center with at least an original and valid photo identification. The only photographic identifications permitted are: Driving license, passport, PAN card, voter identification, UID Aadhaar College of identification, employee identification card, or a notarized affidavit containing the candidate’s photo, signature, date birth and residential address. The details of this proof of identification must be given to fill out the online application.

Duration and Examination Type: The GATE examination consists of a single paper of 3-hour duration that contains 65 questions carrying a maximum of 100 marks. The question paper will consist of both multiple choice questions (MCQ) and numerical answer type (NAT) questions.
Pattern of Question Papers: In all the papers, there will be a total of 65 questions carrying 100 marks, out of which 10 questions carrying a total of 15 marks will be on General Aptitude (GA).
Marking Scheme: For 1-mark multiple-choice questions, 1/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer. Likewise, for 2-mark multiple-choice questions, 2/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer. There is NO negative marking for numerical answer type questions.
