Top 10 Highest Grossing Tollywood Movies at US Box Office in 2015
Telugu cinema witnessed many super hit films in this year, 2015. Movies such as Baahubali, Srimanthudu, Temper, Rudramadevi, Gopala Gopala, S/O Satyamurthy, Temper, Rudramadevi, Kumari 21F, Bhale Bhale Magadivoy etc. These movies not only ruled the domestic box office but, they also ruled the US box office.
US became a potential market for Telugu movies after Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka. Many actors have a good demand in US since their movies are becoming the biggest money-spinners at the ticket counters.
Movies such as Attack”, “Soggade Chinni Nayana”, “Soukhyam”, “Mama Manchu Alludu Kanchu” and “Bhale Manchi Roju”, “Soukhyam” are slated to hit the theaters in the coming days of December. Among all the movies, SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali – The Beginning became the successful film of this year.
This movie has collected $6,460,124 (Rs 41.45 Crore) from it Telugu version, $567,227 (Rs 3.63 Crore) from its Tamil version and $481,469 (Rs 3.21 Crore) at the US box office. This epic drama has collected a total of $7,508,820 (Rs 48.29 Crore) from its three versions at the US box office. Baahubali became the highest grosser movie in Tollywood since it created a new milestone in Indian cinema. Mahesh Babu’s Srimanthudu grabbed the second place by collecting $2,891,758 (Rs 19.22 Crore) at the US box office.
