Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a test that tests all over India mainly global understanding of the candidates in the different areas of undergraduate Engineering / Technology / Architecture and graduate level courses in Science. The GATE score of a candidate reflects a level of performance on a particular topic on the exam through several years. The score is used for admission to graduate programs (for example, ME, M. Tech, direct Ph.D.) in the center Indians funded colleges (ie institutions provided with financial assistance MHRD and other government agencies)
The Indian Institute of Science (IISC) and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, and Roorkee) jointly manage the realization of GATE. GATE-related operations in each of the zones 8 are managed by zonal GATE office in IIT or IISc. The Organization Institute (OI) is responsible for the coordination process and end-to-end between the institutions they manage. The Institute of GATE 2016 is the Indian Institute of Science.
