2016 GATE Examination Pattern Download

GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) 2016 will be held by IISC (Indian Institute of Science), Bangalore to provide admission to students of Master of Engineering degree programs. The review is scheduled to be held from January 30 to February 7 next year.

Time and Examination Type: The GATE exam paper consists of one three-hour-long containing 65 questions that carry a maximum of 100 marks. The question paper will consist of two multiple choice questions (MCQ) and type of numerical answer (NAT) questions. The pattern of the questionnaires are discussed below.

The review of all documents will be held on a computerized test ONLINE (CBT), which questions the candidates are displayed in a random sequence on a computer screen mode. It requires candidates to select the answer (for the MCQ type) or enter the answer to numerical type of question and answer using a mouse on a virtual keyboard (computer keyboard can be disabled). Each candidate will be provided with a scribble pad for hard work. Scribbling pad must be returned after the review. At the end of the 3-hour window, the computer screen will close automatically additional shares.

Pattern of Question Papers: In all jobs, there will be a total of 65 questions carrying 100 marks, of which 10 questions carrying a total of 15 brands will generally Aptitude (GA).

The documents bearing the AE, AG, BT, CE, CH, CS, CE, EE, code, ME, MN, MT, PE, PI, TF and XE, Mathematics Engineering take about 15% of total brands, General Aptitude section take 15% of the total marks and the remaining 70% of the total marks is dedicated to the theme of the paper.

The documents bearing the AR, CY, EY, GG, MA, PH and XL code, the General Aptitude section take 15% of the total score and the remaining 85% of the total marks are devoted to the subject of the paper.

GATE 2016 would contain questions of two different types in various papers:

(i) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) take 1 or 2 points each in all the papers and sections. These questions are objective in nature, and each will have a choice of four answers, of which the candidate has to mark the correct answer (s).

(ii) Numerical Answer Questions 1 or 2 points each in all the papers and sections. To these questions the answer is a real number, to be introduced by the candidate with the virtual keyboard. No options will be displayed for these questions

Marking Scheme: For 1-mark multiple choice questions, third mark will be deducted for an incorrect answer. Similarly, for the 2-mark multiple choice questions, 2/3 mark will be deducted for an incorrect answer. No mark for numerical questions such refusal.
